This is my first venture in to brooch making!
This brooch is reticulated. The small silver band around it is oxidised to give contrast.
Silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. By repeatedly heating and quenching the silver almost to melting point you oxidise the copper from the metal and are left with a layer of 99.999 fine silver.
Every piece is totally different as it depends on the heat of the flame and the number of times the piece is heated.
All my jewellery is solid silver and I am registered at the Birmingham Assay office.
Silver items weighing less than 7.78g do not legally require hallmarking.
If an item is showing as sold out, please don’t panic! All my pieces are available for pre-order. Please follow the ordering instructions on the website and I will make the item just for you!
